Essential Funding

  • Overall, Clinic revenues:
    • Government grants & contracts: 43%
    • Contributed goods & services: 32%
    • Grants & private contributions: 10%
    • Other: 15%
  • Largest source of funds are the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Local funders are critical to Clinic operations, especially General Medicine Services – the Health Care Foundation funds three Clinic areas as does United Way and the REACH Foundation.
  • Volunteers continue to be vital to the functioning of the Clinic with the value of their contributed services estimated at over $2 million.
  • Truman Medical Center contributed lab services valued at over $2 million.
  • Unrestricted contributions are critical, with the 2011 Annual Fund raising $210,000.
  • Special events, both large and small, bring in funding and new supporters. Bloom, And the Beat Goes On and We CARE KC contribute fundraising and community awareness to the Clinic.
