Education for Individuals
We also offer preventive health education services to individuals, groups, and at community-level interventions in the following areas:
- HIV/STD education
- Chronic care diabetes education
- Coping & risk reduction education via the SISTA (Sisters Informing Sisters about Topics on AIDS) program. SISTA is a program for African-American women developed by African-American women. For more information, click here.
The Kansas City CARE Clinic also offers the opportunity to have a Clinic representative come to your organization/community to give an educational presentation or conduct a testing clinic. In Medical/Legal Partnership with Legal Aid of Western Missouri, patients of the Kansas City CARE Clinic can access consultations and assistance related to legal needs such as public benefits, domestic violence, housing issues, estate and health planning, AIDS discrimination issues, consumer issues, immigration law and representation in the KCMO Municipal Court. Marketplace Enrollment Assistance
Knowing your options under the new Affordable Care Act is important, but can also be difficult to understand. The Kansas City CARE Clinic is here to help! We offer assistance with Marketplace health coverage enrollment, where you can meet with Certified Application Counselors who are trained to help you find and compare plans and go through the steps to signing up for coverage.
